End the Shutdown, Return to Good-Faith Negotiation. We Need Unity!

Our country is shut down because leaders refuse to talk. Federal workers aren’t getting paid. Veterans services are disrupted. Critical programs are frozen. This isn’t governance. It’s a breakdown of basic responsibility. Americans are watching and we’re exhausted by the dysfunction. We need unity and real negotiation right now and for the remainder of the Trump term. Both sides must compromise. That’s how democracy works. But compromise requires leadership willing to build bridges. Our president has never demonstrated those skills. His entire career shows a pattern. He creates chaos, refuses compromise, and blames others when things fail. You cannot wait for him to suddenly become someone he’s not. Congress must lead where the White House won’t. Pick up the phone. Sit down with colleagues across the aisle. Find common ground. The American people are counting on you to be bigger than partisan politics. Our families need a functioning government. Our kids deserve leaders who solve problems instead of creating them. End this shutdown. Show us that democracy still works.
