Protect Jobs in Our State!

Please defend climate progress in our state to protect our communities and economies! I am writing to urge you to use every tool at your disposal to defend your state’s climate policies from President Trump’s recent Executive Order (Protecting American Energy from State Overreach), which aims to roll back vital state and local climate protections. As you know, this directive threatens years of progress by attempting to override state authority and weaken efforts to cut emissions, transition to clean energy, and protect public health. Across the country, states have led the way in the fight against climate change—enacting ambitious laws to curb fossil fuel pollution, advance renewable energy, and build resilient communities. The federal government should support these efforts, not sabotage them. This Executive Order is not just a policy dispute, it is an attack on our state’s rights and the health and safety of our communities and economies. I urge you to challenge this order in court, collaborate with other governors to mount a united legal and political response, and continue to implement and expand state-level climate action. This is a critically-important time for our state. The health and safety of future generations are at risk. Please stand strong and show that our future will not be dictated by fossil fuel interests.
