Gabbard has consistently questioned well-established facts, such as the Syrian regime's use of chemical weapons against civilians, even when the evidence was overwhelming from U.S. and international intelligence agencies. Her dismissal of these atrocities appears politically motivated to cast doubt on any action against the Assad regime, which she has defended and even celebrated Russian military intervention to prop up. Furthermore, Gabbard's positions have flip-flopped drastically, from criticizing Trump's policies to now embracing his rhetoric about a "deep state" plot against him, including attacking the very intelligence agencies she would lead. Her allegiance seems to shift based on political expediency rather than principle. With her lack of intelligence experience, disturbing endorsement of authoritarian regimes, and willingness to distort facts for political gain, Gabbard simply cannot be trusted to oversee our nation's intelligence efforts impartially and safeguard our security interests.
