Fascists really can't stand jokes, can you. I'm not the world's biggest Kimmel fan--I haven't been interested in late night TV since Letterman retired--but the man's not wrong. He spread no lies. He also didn't exactly crack a joke, but you must have felt it was at your expense all the same. You are, in fact, doing everything you can to avoid the possibility that Mr. Kirk's killer is anything but a radical left-winger. All evidence suggests otherwise. But you have always had a shaky relationship with evidence and fact, haven't you, Mr. President? Perhaps let's examine what this says for free speech, shall we? The government shall make no law prohibiting the exercise of free speech, nor shall the government overreach to compel silence from those engaged in free speech. If Mr. Kirk was allowed to stand up and speak his mind publicly, so is Mr. Kimmel. Unilaterally punishing speech you don't like while preaching freedom for those unrestricted voices you do like is, by definition, fascism. Defend the constitution as written or stop pretending you care about it.
