Reject the NDAA and Stop Authoritarian Military Deployments

I am deeply concerned about the recent use of federal military forces within U.S. cities and communities. This summer alone, we have witnessed military deployments that appear designed to intimidate political opposition and support mass deportation operations that are disrupting American communities.
These domestic military deployments represent a dangerous departure from American democratic norms and civilian governance. The use of our armed forces against our own people is inflammatory, dangerous, and fundamentally at odds with our constitutional principles.
Congress has the power and responsibility to push back against these authoritarian tactics.
The upcoming vote on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) provides a critical opportunity to take a stand. This legislation would authorize billions more in Pentagon funding - the same Pentagon that oversees these troubling domestic troop deployments.
I urge you to reject the NDAA in its current form.
Voting to authorize additional Pentagon funding without addressing these domestic military overreach concerns would signal Congressional acquiescence to authoritarian power grabs. This cannot be treated as business-as-usual legislation when our democratic institutions are under threat.
As my elected representative, I need you to:
• Vote NO on the NDAA until safeguards against domestic military deployments are included
• Demand accountability for recent military actions on U.S. soil
• Stand firm against any further militarization of domestic law enforcement
The time for half-measures is over. I need you to fight back against authoritarianism at every possible step, starting with rejecting this defense authorization bill.
Our democracy depends on Congress exercising its constitutional oversight role. Please do not fail us now.
I will be watching your vote on the NDAA closely.
