An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Detained People are Human Beings

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

A Haitian woman's tragic death in immigration detention underscores the urgent need for reform of these facilities. We cannot stand idly by as human rights violations occur behind closed doors. This disturbing incident demands a full Congressional investigation into conditions at ICE detention centers across the country. Comprehensive oversight and accountability measures must be implemented to uphold basic human dignity and prevent future loss of life due to negligence or misconduct. Allowing inhumane treatment to persist unchecked would be an inexcusable dereliction of duty. Decisive action is required to address systemic issues and ensure all detainees are treated with the respect they deserve as human beings.
