THERE’S LOW. AND THEN THERE’S DON’T LET THEM ANYWHERE NEAR PUBLIC SERVICE LOW

We need to stop at least one big lie. The one big lie that the current GOP cares about women. They don’t. We see it over and over again in their willingness to protect sexual predators. But it’s election time. So here comes we care about women assurances. But things in Ohio are proving it’s still not true. There is an ad running, and by now we’ve all at least heard/read about it, where the mother of the Democrat running for governor calls her a liar. Because this is such a despicable ad, political outrage and public interest has prompted the powers that be in Ohio to release court materials that prove that Amy Acton is not a liar. And that her mother did not protect her from a step-father that raped her when she was 12. The mother is a liar. The candidate is not. But even when media reported the truth, what does our VP say with a straight face to Republican critics of the ad? Get over it. Politics is ugly. You should be concentrated on winning. A 12-year old girl was raped. Her mother lied about it. The girl and her brother were removed from the home. The rapist fled. The mother protected him. And stayed married to him until he died. Estranged from her daughter for decades. And our second in line to the presidency tells the members of his party, who still maintain some moral core and enough basic decency to be outraged, to just get over it. Because winning is the thing. So let’s all thank JD Vance and all the other horrid mouthpieces willing to condone a political ad that uses a horrific crime against a defenseless 12- old as a cudgel. When they know it’s a lie. Because this is the kind of opportunistic, shameless, despicable, shape-shifting behavior we’re trying very hard to vote out of office. Amy Acton’s stock just went through the roof. You go girl.
