An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop strikes on Iran

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

As a deeply concerned and actively engaged constituent, I join with MoveOn and numerous other organizations to vehemently oppose U.S. strikes on Iran. As is clear from U.S. intelligence, Trump is lying about the nuclear capacity of Iran to hit our country. This is a war of choice that will put U.S. service members at risk, kill more innocent civilians, and drain resources from our communities here at home. The American public does not want another forever war, and Congress must act now to stop it. The courageous protestors in Iran against the dictatorship want support, but not war. People in Iran who have risked their lives for freedom and dignity deserve international solidarity, not more violence raining down on their streets. Bombs do not bring democracy. Please do everything in your power to stop Trump’s warmongering and the risk of all-out war across the Middle East. Congressional votes from here on out will define lawmakers' legacies forever. When we don't push back loudly, silence is taken as acceptance. I look forward to hearing your stance and planned actions to stop this path of destruction.
