I am writing to urge you to take whatever actions are possible to resist the Trump administration’s attempts to erase transgender people from American life, such as removing the “TQ+” from LGBTQ+ web resources, and removing the names of transgender people from web sites about the Stonewall national monument.
These are our friends, our relatives, our colleagues, and our fellow citizens, and all they ask from us is to be seen and respected as full human beings. Instead, this administration mocks and dehumanizes them, following the lead of Elon Musk, whose entire turn to be “anti-woke” seems tied to his inability to accept his own transgender daughter. His behavior is unbecoming of any father, and is absolutely unacceptable as American policy.
Please speak out and act wherever possible to resist this.
