Stop ICE. Stop Trump. Stop lying to the media. Stop lying to the people

Every child in the United States regardless of legal status is entitled to a free public education under the law. Children cannot learn if their basic needs under Maslow’s hierarchy are not being met. Students in Minnesota are still being targeted by ICE and DHS. Reports state that ICE agents are detaining parents at pickup and drop off, bus stops, etc. ICE agents descend on school properties when the final bell rings and collect children and staff members. Recent reports state that ICE routinely kidnaps people on school property, spray tear gas and other caustic weapons of war at children, parents, and staff members, break car windows, etc. These acts violate people’s needs- most importantly, their feelings of safety and security. Children are going home to parent-less households. They’re staying home from school at a rate of one third of the school population. They are going hungry because many students only get the school issued lunch for their daily meals and now have no access to it. Trump has issued statements to the media basically saying that ICE has left Minnesota. Independent journalism readily negates that statement with constant content of the continuous assault of people in that state. Please stop ICE. They have no place here in a free and civilized nation. Stop pushing the “bad hombre” rhetoric when less than 10% of those detained have criminal records. Stop lying to the press. Stop lying to the people.
