An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress; State Governors & Legislatures
You Think the Declaration Is About Unity and Love? Here’s What It Really Says

You recently claimed the Declaration of Independence was about “unity and love and respect.”
That’s not just wrong—it’s dangerous.
The Declaration wasn’t a love letter. It was a warning. And it reads a lot like something we could be sending you today.
⸻
Then: “When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands…”
Now: When a president uses power to serve himself—not the people—to corrupt justice, erase rights, and rule by force, the people have a duty to reject him.
⸻
Then: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal…”
Now: You divide this nation by race, class, loyalty, and obedience.
Equality isn’t in your vocabulary—unless it serves you. And now, in 2025, you’re working to erase it—targeting women, immigrants, LGBTQ+ Americans, the disabled, and the poor.
⸻
Then: “That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive… it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it…”
Now: You’re not protecting democracy—you’re dismantling it. And we have every right to stand in your way.
⸻
Then: “He has obstructed the Administration of Justice…”
Now: You attack judges, threaten prosecutors, ignore the law, and turn the DOJ into your legal shield and political sword.
⸻
Then: “He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly…”
Now: You threaten to shut down Congress, defy the courts, and govern by executive decree—not democracy.
⸻
Then: “He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies…”
Now: You parade tanks through Washington, float martial law, and treat the military like your private security force.
⸻
Then: “He has erected a multitude of New Offices… to harass our people…”
Now: You militarize ICE, raid churches and schools, and surveil critics—all in the name of “order,” never justice.
⸻
Then: “For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent.”
Now: You bury us in tariffs. You cut taxes for the rich while driving up national debt and everyday costs.
⸻
Then: “He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us…”
Now: You incited January 6th—and pardoned every one of your foot soldiers, including violent offenders.
You call them “hostages” and glorify sedition as sacrifice.
You didn’t just excuse the attack on democracy—you institutionalized it.
⸻
Then: “A Prince… is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.”
Now: A man who lies, persecutes, censors, and glorifies power above principle is unfit to serve a democracy he refuses to respect.

Maybe—just maybe—if you’d surrounded yourself with people of courage, character, and competence instead of yes-men and sycophants, you wouldn’t be so dangerously ignorant of the very document you swore to uphold.
The American people paid to have a copy of the Declaration of Independence ridiculously displayed in your Oval Office.
Why not skip a golf game or one of your reality TV-style meetings and actually read it?
It might help you understand its true meaning—and the consequences of betraying it.
