Open Impeachment Proceedings for Emil Bove, Third Circuit Judge

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to add a justice to the lists of those that we must impeach: Emil Bove of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He’s a monster that should never have been confirmed to a lifetime appointment, much less work anywhere near government. To me the word impeachment is a serious one. It’s only to be used as that last peaceful line of defense to preserve the state of our unbiased judiciary. It’s to be used when someone so extreme and destructive to the rule of law somehow gets into office, and proves, beyond reasonable doubt, that they are in fact an enemy to justice, our Constitution, and the rule of law. This is what Emil Bove is. He is an iconoclast in the modern sense, someone who attacks cherished and reverently held beliefs and institutions. Like the people who put him there, they are also iconoclasts, counter to everything that people have died for in the country. That anyone like Bove is allowed to sit in a courtroom is untenable. Bove is neither unbiased nor qualified. This is borne out in many statements by former colleagues at the Department of Justice, his former post. His conduct as acting deputy attorney general and his actions throughout his career demonstrate a pattern of ethical violations and abuse of power that disqualify him from serving in any federal judicial capacity. Bove allegedly orchestrated the abandonment of a corruption case against NYC Mayor Eric Adams in exchange for cooperation with deportation plans, a clear example of using the Justice Department for political retribution rather than justice. This action prompted at least 10 DOJ attorneys to resign in protest. He demanded names of FBI agents investigating January 6 to punish them for what he called insubordination and removed experienced prosecutors who refused to bend to political pressure. He’s also straying outside his judicial duties as an ‘advisor’ on immigration, and the President’s pardon of drug traffickers. He also has no ethics, and probably no moral compass but his own twisted beliefs. Yes, he’s publicly said inflammatory, biased and unethical things, but it’s what he will do with rulings, in deliberations not visible to the public until it’s too late, where he will do a lot of damage. I could go on, but this is where we are. Like his boss, Donald Trump, he’s crossed the line many many times. There’s plenty of dirt on this guy, get the opposition research teams moving.
