An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Prioritize dialogue, withdraw military from protests in Los Angeles

17 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

Deploying military forces against civilians exercising their right to protest is an alarming overreaction that will only escalate tensions and erode public trust. We call on you to immediately withdraw the National Guard troops from Los Angeles and allow local law enforcement to handle these situations through proper de-escalation tactics and community engagement. The use of tear gas and excessive force against protesters is unacceptable and will further inflame the situation. We urge you to pursue diplomatic solutions that address the root causes driving these protests rather than resorting to a show of force that could lead to violence and human rights violations. The rights to free speech and peaceful assembly must be protected, even in the face of civil unrest. Dialogue and understanding, not military deployment, are the paths to resolving this crisis.
