An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Protect USPS jobs and service nationwide

The United States Postal Service is a vital public institution that serves all Americans by delivering mail affordably to every zip code. It employs over 635,000 workers, including nearly 100,000 military veterans. The proposed firing of 10,000 USPS workers and potential privatization plans threaten this essential service and the livelihoods of postal employees. An independent, fully staffed, and accessible USPS is crucial for maintaining reliable mail delivery nationwide, especially in rural areas that would be disproportionately impacted by service cuts or privatization. I urge you to take immediate action to prevent DOGE and Postmaster General DeJoy from implementing these damaging plans that will harm postal workers, veterans, and the public's ability to affordably send and receive mail.
