You should not have asked the Defense Secretary to exempt Guard members from vaccination requirements. The vaccine takes four weeks to provide full protection against the virus. What happens if our Guard members are activated? The unvaccinated will not have the protection they need, even if they get the vaccine as soon as they report. Please act in the best interest of Nebraskans who choose to serve; accept the vaccination rule.
