An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress; State Governors & Legislatures

Did the UN Give Republicans Their New Theme Song“Send in the Clowns”

29 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

Who Chose “Send in the Clowns”? At a signing held during the UN General Assembly, “Send in the Clowns” played immediately before President Trump and the Danish and Greenlandic leaders entered. Did the UN intend to embarrass President Trump, or was this an extraordinary coincidence? The polling is less ambiguous. Only 32 percent of Americans approve of Trump’s performance. Internationally, only 23 percent, the median across 36 countries, express confidence in his handling of world affairs. Yet Trump retains substantial Republican support, while national and international disapproval is widespread. Maybe that will change in the midterms. Meanwhile congress must examine how this administration’s conduct and policies are affecting America’s credibility, alliances and standing abroad. America can never be great while Trump and his incompetent cabinet are in power.
