Tax cuts will not make our economy stronger nor will they make much difference to the billionaires but the cuts that are proposed to partially fund those tax breaks will break the back of the middle and low income people in this entire nation, and especially in Alaska where, as you know, 30% of Medicaid recipients are children.
Other issues in this budget reconciliation bill that you should be deleting are:
+ Repealing on excise taxes gun silencers.
+Expanding school vouchers- tax credits to donors amounts to direct funding of voucher schools while public schools are being underfunded.
+Weakening the child tax credits
+Blocking state regulation of AI.
+Gutting the estate tax.
+Allowing the government to terminate the tax status of nonprofits that the administration doesn't like
+Giving millions more to build immigration jails instead of actually solving the problem of immigration by hiring more judges and making the process work faster and better.
+Eliminating free tax help.
+Restricting the federal courts' authority to hold the government in contempt if they violate judicial orders.
+Providing more money for an already bloated defense budget.
+Increasing the cost of student loans and making it harder for students to qualify for loans.
+Increasing the prices for prescriptions for those on Medicare.
In short, this bill is TERRIBLE and will affect people's lives if not make people die due to inability to access care and medicines. It inflicts great harm on the poor of this country and a burden on the middle class as well. It will make the wealth divide much worse. The only people this will help are the rich donors to political campaigns and the companies they represent. You personally, will also stand to gain from this bill. Please think about who you represent. Many of your constituents may not realize what will happen to them and they may be behind the bill because they don't know that it will hurt them. But you represent those people and you are privy to the facts. You should know better than to sign on to something that will both exponentially increase our deficit and cause great pain to your constituents. Please vote NO on this bill!
