Stop the 1100+ job cuts at the RTP EPA office.

If you care about your constituents in North Carolina, our environment and our state economy you should cry foul at Lee Zeldin’s plan to cut the EPA budget by 65% and to eliminate over 1000 jobs in RTP with the agency. Science is an integral part of the EPA’s mission to protect us all from pollutants and industrial degradation of our waterways and environment. I am continually amazed by the brazen destruction of our institutions by this administration. Institutions like the EPA and the CFPB that serve the public good and protect us from the effects of unrestrained corporate greed are integral to our wellbeing. Greed that has left superfund sites scattered across our country. Greed that has polluted our waterways with forever chemicals. Greed that has rendered rural areas unlivable from air and water quality degradation from industrial pork and poultry operations. NC benefits from the high quality jobs that are going to be eliminated. Our universities are going to suffer from that lack of opportunity for our brightest students. And foremost, our citizens will suffer from the environmental consequences of a lack of oversight and investigation of the harms of polluting industries. Please push back again this effort to destroy the EPA. Conservation of our environment should be conservative value.
