An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop Musk's hostile takeover of federal personnel systems

203 so far! Help us get to 250 signers!

The reckless actions by Elon Musk's cronies at the Office of Personnel Management represent an outrageous power grab that has compromised the private data of millions of federal workers. Locking out dedicated civil servants and barring access to vital systems like the Enterprise Human Resources Integration database is an unconscionable breach that jeopardizes critical cybersecurity protocols. This egregious overreach by unelected corporate lackeys seizing control of secure government data troves is a contemptible attack on the civil service and democratic norms of oversight. Musk's minions are running roughshod over this agency, purging experienced personnel and staging a corrupt corporate occupation under a pretense of "efficiency." This is nothing short of a hostile administrative coup enabled by Trump that must be stopped immediately. Investigate and put an end to this unacceptable pillaging before more damage is inflicted on public institutions. Unchecked malfeasance of this magnitude by private billionaires like Musk is an existential threat to governance that cannot be tolerated.
