Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas.
Stockholm Syndrome is real. I know this because both of my Texas senators have shown it to be true.
Senator Cruz, who was ridiculed and humiliated, along with his family, more than once by DJT has eagerly jumped on the Trump train. Even though he will be thrown under it as needed going forward.
And now Senator Cornyn has done the same. Even though he knows in his heart of hearts that DJT is a loser for the GOP. How hard did you have to hold your nose to do this?
What a sad diminished state to be in. To be made to accept and lie in a bed of your own making. To not have the moral constitution to at least attempt to not go down with what you know is a sinking ship. Or better yet, to not help the ship go down in the first place.
What an abdication of responsibility. What a capitulation to a person of the lowest moral character. Acceptance of a bully with the temperament of a toddler, with as much self absorption and impulse control.
It’s not even a case of loyalty to your political party, because that party is dead. Killed by the man you now show total fealty to. One man you chose over what’s best for our country.
How could you watch what should have been a moment of victory in NH last night being cheapened by the increasingly vile remarks made by the winner? All of his worst tendencies were on display.
This is your leader. Which you confirmed with your endorsements.
But let’s sum it all up with the moment of the evening shall we?
“Did you ever think [about how] she actually appointed you, Tim? … And you’re the senator of her state,” Trump said to Scott, referring to Haley, the former governor of the Palmetto State.“You must really hate her,” he added.
Scott, who stood behind the former president Tuesday with a big smile, stepped up to the podium and replied, “I just love you.”
And we the people cringed.
