Oppose EPA Rollback of Endangerment Finding. Protect Our Communities!

Today I’m writing to urge you to oppose the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) rollback of the Endangerment Finding because it poses a severe threat to public health and the environment. As you know, this finding, established in 2009, is the legal underpinning for regulating greenhouse gas emissions from various sectors like power plants, vehicles, and oil and gas operations. Reversing it would undermine the EPA's ability to address the catastrophic impacts of climate change driven by human activities. In effect, they are trying to create a legal shield for corporations to continue to contribute to growing overload of greenhouse gases from the use of fossil fuels. The side effects are pronounced: Profits and Pollution over People, Health, and the Environment. As witnessed across the nation, ranging from devastating wildfires and droughts to extreme weather events, floods, and loss of species, these consequences of unchecked emissions are already unfolding. Overturning this vital determination would constitute a reckless disregard for scientific evidence and public welfare. I urge you to firmly oppose any attempts to weaken or rescind the Endangerment Finding, as it serves as a crucial safeguard against the worsening climate crisis. Upholding this finding is imperative to protect our communities and secure a livable future for generations to come. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
