An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Oppose the SAVE Act (H.R. 22)

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The SAVE Act (H.R. 22) would create unnecessary barriers to voter registration, disenfranchising millions of eligible Americans. This draconian legislation requires citizens to present a birth certificate or passport in person to register, documents that over 21 million people lack immediate access to. It discriminately impacts women who have changed their names, transgender individuals, elderly voters, and communities of color who are less likely to possess these forms of ID. There is simply no evidence of widespread voter fraud that would justify such restrictive measures. Passing this bill would be a blatant act of voter suppression. I urge you to stand up for the fundamental right to vote and oppose the SAVE Act when it comes before the Senate. Protect our democracy by ensuring all eligible citizens can participate in elections without unreasonable obstacles.
