Oppose the SAVE Act – It’s Voter Suppression, Plain and Simple

I'm writing to urge you to oppose the so-called "SAVE Act" (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act). This bill is nothing more than a dangerous and discriminatory attempt to disenfranchise millions of eligible voters under the false guise of “election integrity.”
As someone whose legal name does not match the name on my birth certificate—like many trans and nonbinary people, naturalized citizens, married individuals, and countless others—I find this bill not only offensive, but terrifying. It is a targeted effort to strip voting rights away from people who already face bureaucratic obstacles simply for existing.
This bill would make it nearly impossible for people like me to vote, despite being fully eligible and registered. That is not election security. That is voter suppression.
Our democracy is strongest when it includes everyone—not when it creates unnecessary hoops for marginalized communities to jump through. The SAVE Act is a direct threat to voting rights, and it must be stopped.
I urge you to publicly oppose this legislation and to stand up for free and fair access to the ballot box for all Americans.
