An open letter to the U.S. Senate

No to HR 28!

22 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

As your constituent, you must oppose H.R. 28 and the attack on transgender and intersex student athletes. This bill does nothing to address any of the real concerns that women and girls face in sports. It targets a small group of transgender youth, exposing them to unfair treatment and increased harassment. Aside from the detrimental effect on trans kids, bills like this will come down hardest on cis girls and women. Anyone not deemed feminine enough will be targeted, harassed, and forced to endure invasive questioning with the end result genital inspections. This scenario is prime for abuse in places where abuse of female athletes is already a problem that is not being addressed. Young people of all backgrounds deserve access to the proven social, mental, and physical benefits of sports. I urge you to vote no on this discriminatory bill and rally your Democrat colleagues and any reasonable Republicans to vote no.
