I am writing to urge you to fulfill your constitutional duty by opening an impeachment investigation into President Donald Trump’s violations of the Emoluments Clause and his unlawful, corrupt campaign practices. Since taking office, President Trump has continued to commit a growing list of impeachable offenses that threaten our democracy, undermine the rule of law, and violate the separation of powers.
Unless Congress takes its impeachment responsibilities seriously, President Trump will continue to entrench his corrupt interests, usurp authority reserved for other branches of government, and abuse his power to the detriment of our country and its people. Specifically, Congress must investigate and impeach President Trump for the following:
→ Illegal kidnapping, detention, and removal of U.S. residents
→ Unlawful and unconstitutional removal of U.S. residents, migrants, and asylum-seekers to foreign prisons
→ Attempting to deport immigrants for peacefully protesting
→ Usurping Congress’s powers and defying court orders
→ Abusing power to seek retribution against perceived adversaries
→ Co-opting and dismantling independent government oversight
→ Unlawful imposition of tariffs and abuse of trade powers
→ Receiving foreign and domestic emoluments in violation of the Constitution
→ Usurping local and state authority
→ Abusing emergency and pardon powers
→ Corruptly dismissing criminal charges for political gain
→ Depriving citizens of their birthright
→ Blocking efforts to secure U.S. elections
→ Planning the forced removal of Palestinians from Gaza
→ Engaging in unlawful, corrupt practices during the 2024 presidential campaign
A majority of Americans support impeachment proceedings, recognizing that President Trump’s actions represent a clear and present danger to our nation’s constitutional order. I urge you to remember your oath of office and do not delay any longer. Please protect our democracy and uphold the rule of law.
