Trump’s Pardons Keep Putting Americans at Risk

On May 11, 2026, Ryan Nichols, a man pardoned by President Trump despite being a repeat offender, was arrested in Harrison County, Texas, after allegedly threatening a family at a church while displaying a firearm. Americans are constantly told that immigrants are the greatest threat to public safety and that other countries are emptying their prisons into the United States. Trump did that here by pardoning politically connected extremists, giving them praise and protection while risking the safety of American families. How is that equal justice under the law? Families should not fear intimidation in a church. Children should not be harmed because someone wearing a MAGA hat received a pardon. Congress cannot stay silent.
