Governor Newsom's decision to give a platform to Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA is deeply disturbing. Kirk's organization has a well-documented history of promoting extreme, divisive and often false views that undermine democratic values and fuel societal divisions. By providing a voice to such inflammatory figures, Newsom risks lending credibility to dangerous rhetoric that contradicts principles of truth, equality and respect for all. This concerning choice raises serious doubts about the governor's judgment and commitment to upholding the inclusive ideals that should guide our leaders.
