Stop Illegal East Wing Construction

U.S. District Court Judge Richard Leon ruled that construction on Trump's East Wing demolition must stop until Congress authorizes its completion. Yet the White House is defying this order by continuing construction under a claimed security exemption. This is unacceptable. You must take immediate action to enforce the court's ruling and hold the Trump administration accountable for proceeding with an illegal project. The administration demolished the historic East Wing starting in October 2024 without congressional authorization for a $300 million ballroom project. The National Trust for Historic Preservation filed a lawsuit in December to block this destruction of our national heritage. Judge Leon sided with the plaintiffs, yet Trump continues construction anyway, hiding behind vague claims about security infrastructure. The National Capital Planning Commission voted to approve Trump's plan this week despite the judge's order requiring congressional authorization. This circumvention of both judicial and legislative oversight sets a dangerous precedent. No president should be allowed to demolish historic White House structures and spend hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars without proper authorization and public input. Enforce the court order and demand the administration halt all construction immediately.
