An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Stop Mass Shootings

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

We've been traveling and I've gotten a few days behind in reporting mass shooting info from GunViolenceArchive. Mercifully, we have significantly reduced numbers after the weekend of 16 mass shootings. There were two on Monday and one each on Tuesday and Wednesday. Astonishingly, there does not appear to have been a mass shooting yesterday. (I hope that holds.) A day without a mass shooting. I'm actually stunned. Still those four mass shootings earlier this week mean there are four shattered communities. Three more people dead and 13 more injured. We're up to 320 for the year, but we've only had 172 days in that year. This is absolutely unacceptable. You know what I and the majority of Americans want: ban assault weapons and large magazines, implement universal background checks and red flag laws, and close the Charleston loophole. Those will do for a start.
