An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Save housing assistance

16 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

The homelessness crises will be made catastrophically worse if Trump’s proposed budget is allowed to cut housing vouchers. Currently we have enough vouchers for only a quarter of the people who qualify for aid, with wait lists longer than ten years in some cities. Removing vouchers will harm even more people. I am disabled and my symptoms are significantly worse when trying to share a home with others. Many of us have extreme immune, allergy, and sensory limitations that leave us trapped in a small bedroom and still having extra symptoms if we don’t have our own home. Many more will be left with no shelter at all. Please don’t let them take away my voucher or others who need it just as much. These vouchers are just as important for working people trying to get stabilized as they are for those of us unable to work. Protect our ability to have a safe home.
