An open letter to the U.S. Congress

URGENT: Transgender Service Members Are Patriots, Defend Them!

82 so far! Help us get to 100 signers!

I am writing to strongly oppose the Trump administration’s order to discharge up to 1,000 transgender service members. These are trained, capable Americans who have served with honor. Removing them based solely on gender identity is discriminatory, unjust, and a threat to our military’s strength. This policy ignores the facts. A 2016 RAND Corporation study for the Department of Defense found that open service by transgender individuals has minimal impact on readiness or healthcare costs. It also confirmed that inclusive policies do not harm unit cohesion—findings backed by the experiences of our allies. Targeting loyal service members is a betrayal of their sacrifice. It says prejudice matters more than performance. We don’t defend freedom by punishing those who fight for it. I urge you to take immediate action to stop this cruel and baseless order. Stand up for the rights and dignity of all who serve.
