We need the DOE!

I am concerned about Trump‘s plan to abolish the Department of Education. This would cause a grave disservice to the nation. It would have a devastating effect on our public schools. The DOE ensures that the schools follow the laws with regard to kids with disabilities. These laws protect these kids from being discriminated against because of their disability and ensures that schools address their needs. They also ensure that kids with disabilities receive early intervention and post education transition services. These kids need help to be successful in life and don’t need you to withdraw these services. Eliminating the DOE would strip minorities of their civil rights. This would affect millions of children. Is this what you want to be remembered for?! The DOE also provides crucial workforce development program, programs that boost our economy. We need the Department of Education! Please do not allow Trump to strip us of the DOE.
