An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (Tenn. only)

Vote NO on allowing 18 year olds to carry firearms without a background check

59 so far! Help us get to 100 signers!

VOTE NO on legislation to allow 18 year olds to carry guns without a background check! In TN, as in almost every other state, if you want to: Drive - You need a license Hunt - You need a license Fish - You need a license Cut hair - Youneed a license Do manicures and pedicures - You need a license Put a car or motorcycle on the road - You need to register it The 2nd amendment was written when the US had no standing army. That moment is long passed. We DO NOT need a well organized militia in any state of the Union. Allowing 18 year olds to carry loaded firearms in public is insanity. This legislation is opposed by every TN law enforcement organization. Please VOTE NO on this legislation. The GOP and Gov Lee seem hell bent on turning TN into an armed encampment. It will surely NOT be good for tourism and business. There is NO rational explanation for why this legislation is needed. VOTE NO. Gov Lee, if this legislation gets to your desk you should veto it without hesitation!
