An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Enforce Congress’ authority to write laws and fund programs!

43 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

The administration's move to gut vital agencies and programs through executive orders is an alarming overstep of presidential authority. Congress holds the power of the purse and legislates on behalf of the American people. Funding for libraries, independent media like Voice of America, services for the homeless, and other crucial areas should not be unilaterally revoked. These are issues that impact all citizens and warrant thoughtful bipartisan solutions through the proper legislative process. I urge you to take immediate action to uphold Congressional oversight and prevent this executive overreach that undermines democratic norms. The American people deserve a government that functions as designed, with co-equal branches providing checks and balances.
