An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Tax payer responsibility to ICE? Absolutely not.

3 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

On the evening of February 10, the Mount Olive Town Council held a public commentary regarding ICE action in our district. During the course of the meeting, we were informed that Roxbury and Mount Olive share water and sewage infrastructure and that the proposed ICE facility would affect BOTH towns- in terms of potential sewage contamination, water shortages, etc. It was also revealed that Mount Olive and Roxbury tax payers will have to foot the bill for the additional utilities as well as expanded facilities and maintenance issues. It’s been widely discussed and agreed upon that WE THE PEOPLE do not want or support ICE in our communities. We don’t want them harassing our residents, shooting people at random, or building their latest concentration camp, and now we’re being told we’re going to pay for it all too? You were voted into office by constituents who believed you represented our best interests. When exactly will we be seeing this representation in action? Do your job. Fight ICE. Keep them out of our district.
