An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Pass HR9684 To Open Building Trade Apprenticeships To Rural And Low-Income Workers

213 so far! Help us get to 250 signers!

I want my representative to support HR9684, the PATH Act. This bill directs the Secretary of Labor to build pre-apprenticeship programs in the building and construction trades specifically for people from low-income and rural census tracts. Right now those apprenticeship pipelines run through networks that rural and low-income workers rarely have access to, even though the trades pay well and don't require a four-year degree. This isn't a partisan wish list item. It was introduced by a Democrat and a Republican together, which tells me it's built to actually move, not just make a point. A construction job that starts with a real apprenticeship is one of the more reliable paths to the middle class this country still offers, and it shouldn't only be available to people who already know someone in the union. Vote yes on HR9684 and get these pipelines built.
