Remove The Bad Actors From Healthcare

I am your constituent and I want you to know that there are significant obstacles to good healthcare that you have it in your power to fix them. Pharmacy Benefit Managers take kickbacks from drug makers and cheat consumers. I want you to pass legislation like the Pharmacy Benefit Manager Reform Act, S1339 -118th Congress. Hospitals are cheated by Group Purchasing Organizations who also take kickbacks from suppliers instead of operating in the hospital’s best interest. I want you to remove the Safe Harbor in anti-kickback legislation so they become ethical actors. When a medical facility or hospital is purchased functions are discarded, staff cut and businesses restructured to squeeze the most money out of it as possible. I want you to pass a version of the Health Over Wealth Act that covers all medical facility purchases not just private equity purchases. Lastly, Certificates of Need create an undue burden on communities by creating medical monopolies. They result in limited services and increased costs and reduced care for patients. 35 states have them and I am asking you to make them illegal everywhere. Thank You.
