An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop Mass Shootings. Ban Assault Weapons & Oppose Concealed Carry Mandate.

15 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

I am writing as I grieve with the families traumatized and robbed of their children by yet another school shooting. It doesn't (and shouldn't) be this way. Yet again, it’s the guns . I urge you to reinstate a federal assault weapons ban by co-sponsoring the GOSAFE Act (H.R. 2790/S.1370) and OPPOSE the Federal Concealed Carry Mandate (“Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act" (H.R. 38/S. 65)). The deadliest mass shootings have involved assault weapons, and the data shows that bans work. When a federal ban was in place, the rate of gun massacres decreased. Once the ban expired, gun massacres increased dramatically. Assault weapons are not designed for hunting; they are weapons of war. Guns are the number one killer of kids in America. If government officials truly care about birth rates and population decline, let alone be pro-life and family first, they would do something about safer and stricter gun laws. We can protect lives and the rights of responsible gun owners.
