An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Don’t give up your power to DOGE

17 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

Elon Musk is not the president, and he cannot be going in and subverting your power as congress by shutting down programs and firing people. It’s illegal and unconstitutional. His latest string of firing at the FDA affected my friends, who are your constituents. Not only have they lost their jobs and livelihoods, but the career they worked decades to achieve. Musk and his DOGE team fired people whose job it was to keep toxins and contaminants out of animal food. That means both pet food and livestock. In addition to being illegal and immoral, this is a public health crisis. Put a stop to Elon and DOGE immediately. And do whatever is necessary to bring back the federal workers who have lost their jobs through this illegal, unconstitutional, and immoral string of firings. Yes we need to find waste, fraud, and abuse and root it out. But this isn’t it. Don’t give up your elected power to an unelected group of college kids run by an unelected oligarch. This is America. This is not how we make it great again. Do something. Please.
