You must veto the ignorant, unnecessary, dangerous, idiotic “constitutional carry” bill that’s being sent to you by the semi conscious TN legislature. If you’ll take the time to educate yourself about the epidemic of gun violence in the United States and the unbelievable proliferation of gun ownership I’m sure you’ll veto this bill. There’s a graph in this morning’s NYT that tells you all you need to know to see the folly of enabling more loaded guns into public places with no knowledge of who’s carrying and what sort of weapon they might be carrying. As you can see, the US is an absolute outlier in terms of gun ownership and gun deaths. Your primary responsibility as Governor is to ensure the safety of the citizens of Tennessee. If you sign the “constitutional carry” bill it will be an absolute abrogation of your responsibility as Governor. This morning the NYT reported the apprehension of an individual in a Publix grocery store in Atlanta with enough weapons and ammunition to kill many, many innocent shoppers, as were massacred in CO this week. Take the time to look up the picture, please. Please educate yourself, Governor. Think about the almost certain damaging affects of unleashing thousands, if not tens of thousands of loaded weapons on the millions of innocent citizens and children in TN. You simply cannot sign this bill into law without being complicit in every death or injury that results. It is beyond my comprehension that you believe this bill will enhance the safety of ALL Tennesseans. I hope you’ll take the time to educate yourself on all facets of what could and likely will happen if you sign his bill into law. If you are truly a pro-life Christian you MUST veto this bill and take a firm stand against increasing the number of guns in the hands of Tennesseans.
