Vote NO on Ohio Senate Bill 56

Senate Bill 56 is a direct attack on Ohio voters. Ohio voted - overwhelmingly - in support of legalization of marijuana. Huffman has drafted a bill that goes against what Ohio voters - those who you represent - have voted for. Also, the bill is an extreme overreach - mandatory jail time for a passenger in a car being driven by someone “under the influence” all without an explanation of what defines being under the influence or how they will check for acute intoxication. The bill also repeals medical marijuana which Ohio voted on even longer ago. As if proposing a bill directly against what was already approved by voters wasn’t enough, it’s being done expeditiously and privately, not allowing any public comments.
There is a lot going on in our state and our country right now that is actively harming our citizens. Please hastily vote down this proposed bill and encourage the rest of the state senate to spend less time on bills that contradict Ohio’s wishes and more time discussing ways to improve things.
