An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Reject disenfranchising SAVE Act, protect voter freedom

112 so far! Help us get to 250 signers!

The SAVE Act would severely restrict voter registration by requiring physical documentation of citizenship for all voter registration applications and re-registrations, disenfranchising millions who lack ready access to documents like passports and birth certificates. It would eliminate mail registration, cripple voter registration drives and online systems, and hamper automatic voter registration by mandating in-person transactions with citizenship documents. This burdensome process imposes significant costs on voters, from paying for documents to taking time off work, amounting to a modern-day poll tax. With its disproportionate impact on communities of color, younger voters, and married women, the SAVE Act is an undemocratic barrier to the freedom to vote. Reject this misguided legislation that undermines electoral participation for all Americans.
