An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Ban Cruel Bear and Wolf Hunting in Alaska

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I am dismayed to learn that the controversial practice of using helicopters to hunt bears and wolves has been reinstated in Alaska. This inhumane and unethical method, which involves chasing down these animals until they are exhausted before gunning them down, is both cruel and unsportsmanlike. It flies in the face of principles of fair chase and ethical hunting practices. I urge you to take immediate action to ban this barbaric activity once again. Allowing this brutal slaughter to continue tarnishes Alaska's reputation and disregards the humane treatment of wildlife. There are more ethical and sustainable ways to manage animal populations that do not involve such wanton cruelty. The reinstatement of this archaic practice is a step backwards and undermines efforts towards conservation and responsible wildlife management. I implore you to listen to the outrage of residents and reinstate the ban on this inhumane and inane hunting method. Upholding ethical standards and humane practices should be a priority.
