An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Demand Audits and Accountability for Venezuela's $13 Billion in Oil Revenues

680 so far! Help us get to 1,000 signers!

Congress needs to immediately investigate what has happened to the more than $13 billion in Venezuelan oil revenues the Trump administration has collected this year. Who controls these accounts? Where are the audits? The American public deserves answers, and so do the Venezuelan people. The administration took control of Venezuela's oil exports after capturing President Nicolás Maduro in January, yet has said almost nothing about where this money is going. With Venezuela recovering from recent earthquakes, there is an urgent humanitarian case for directing these funds toward rebuilding, but there is zero public accounting of whether any of it is being used that way or in any way to benefit the Venezuelan people. Demand a full audit, public disclosure of account management, and a clear plan for how this money serves Venezuelan recovery. The silence from the administration on $13 billion is not acceptable.
