But it’s just a matter of time before you’re thrown off the train entirely. P.S. in case you haven’t noticed, it’s already begun. And your words and actions continue to confirm that you’re just fine with whatever happens. Meanwhile, ICE rounded up parents and kids, including some American citizens, and herded them, some naked and zip-tied, into the streets, around 1 a.m. in Chicago last Tuesday. Saturday video from Portland showed what appears to be ICE agents attacking and tear-gassing peaceful protestors. In Chicago agents appear to attack a man who is not threatening them, leg-sweeping him to the ground, something agents are trained not to do because it has the potential to be debilitating. The violence is condoned, in fact directed, by DHS, the agency ICE is a part of. DHS’s Twitter feed is replete with posts claiming more arrests of “anarchists” despite the absence of any evidence of anarchy. What we are actually seeing is American citizens protesting overreach by the government. It is love of country, and First Amendment outrage, not anarchy. DHS retweeted a post that said “Federal agents aren’t tolerating rioting outside the ICE facility and are making prompt arrests of the far-left extremists who gathered outside to besiege the building.” But Stephen Miller still blames it all on a “growing movement of leftwing terrorism in this country.” There is absolutely NO evidence that movement exists. He should go back to blowing up Venezuelan boats for the camera. Factoid: About 71.5% of nearly 60,000 people currently in ICE detention have no criminal convictions according to the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, a research group at Syracuse University. We’re sick of it all. That’s what’s going on. The Trump administration and its extreme ideologies are what’s wrong. We the people are just trying to bring the country back to a semblance of normal. But our elected Republicans are not only not helping the effort, they are aiding and abetting the chaos. A Dem Rep recently: “The president is unhinged. He is unwell.” Speaker Johnson: “Well a lot of folks on your side are too.” That comment says it all. (Could someone remind him to swear in the new Democratic Rep just elected in AZ? Maybe then we could at least get the Epstein files we were promised.)
