An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Don't undermine protections for public lands

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I’m writing as your constituent to urge you to stand against any proposals to sell off America’s public lands. These proposals are deeply unpopular, environmentally reckless, and economically shortsighted. Americans across the political spectrum value public lands — from national parks and forests to wildlife refuges and open spaces. Attempts to privatize them to fund political priorities or appease special interests go against the will of the people and threaten the future of the places we all depend on for recreation, clean air and water, wildlife habitat, and cultural preservation. Selling off public lands won’t fix the budget or solve the housing crisis. What it will do is damage fragile ecosystems, displace Indigenous communities from sacred sites, and jeopardize rural economies built around outdoor recreation — an industry that generates over $1 trillion a year and supports millions of jobs. Please make it clear that public lands are not for sale. Protect them now — and preserve them for the generations still to come.
