GOP Tax Bill

If you vote to pass the GOP budget, cutting Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP benefits, what will you be doing to handle the need for tent cities to house the elderly who can no longer stay in assisted living facilities? How about newborn babies? Did you know 41% of hospital births are supported by Medicaid? Are you ready to personally take responsibility for the rise in infant mortality? Or burying dead babies? Will you be personally managing the mass morgues that will be needed to account for the sudden loss of healthcare for millions of your constituents? What about medical providers? Many of them rely on Medicaid and Medicare payments to provide care and keep their practices open. Are you comfortable hurting doctors and clinicians? What will you be doing about the crime directly caused by this bill? By increasing hunger and employment opportunities supported by Medicaid and Medicare, you’ll be single-handedly be raising crime. How about the thousands of NC businesses that rely on SNAP purchases? Since you’re so Pro-Business, I take it you’ll help them make up their lost income from ending the SNAP program? There’s nothing good for North Carolinians about this bill. If you pass it, you better be willing to take responsibility for the consequences and the death toll your choices will cause.
