An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Sen. Van Hollen’s Example

10 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

The unjust imprisonment of individuals in El Salvador is a grave violation of human rights and due process. We must take action to secure the release of any persons who have been wrongfully detained. Continuing to allow this travesty of justice to persist is unacceptable. I urge you to collaborate with Senator Van Hollen and leverage all available diplomatic channels to pressure the Salvadoran government into reviewing these cases and freeing those imprisoned without proper cause or fair trial. The United States cannot stand idly by while our global partners trample on basic civil liberties. Bringing these wrongfully detained individuals home must be a top priority in upholding American values of freedom and human dignity on the world stage.
