Hello. I’m calling on you as my elected representative to speak out against President Trump’s actions on Monday in freezing all federal aid. This is blatantly illegal; the executive branch can’t unilaterally decide to ignore laws that were passed by Congress, especially when it comes to financial aid. As my representative, I expect you to take action and clarify how you were going to stop the illegal freeze and ensure that the millions that were directly impacted by this financial aid being frozen will not be harmed. Already we have seen the Medicaid portal stop working, children’s Headstart programs being frozen, public needed Federal grants, and assistance directly in the community being stopped, which is outrageous as this is in an illegal act, and the president is not allowed to stop funding that already has been passed by Congress. We do not have a king or queen for president in America and I expect that you as my representative please ensure that we continue to follow the constitution and due process of the United States.
