You Blew It—Tariffs Will Break the Economy

It's too late now. The damage is done. Prices are going to skyrocket—not because of some abstract market forces, but because of policy decisions you are standing by and letting happen. The new tariffs will hit families and small businesses hard. Ports are already seeing less traffic, ships aren’t even full, and there’s no escaping what comes next: higher prices for everyday Americans. Small businesses can’t absorb these costs. They can’t just “move production back to the U.S.” on a whim—there’s no infrastructure in place to make that possible. They’ll close. People will lose jobs. And the same voters who told you last fall that the economy was their number one concern will remember that you shrugged and looked the other way. Republicans are polling terribly right now, and you’re making sure it stays that way. You are willfully handing Congress back to the Democrats. Did you forget what happened in the 2018 midterms? Or are you just hoping we forgot? Anyway, best of luck next year. I’m sure “owning the libs” will make your voters happier than paying their rent. There are 548 days until the 2026 midterms.
